5Awesome grip, solid construction.
By Jacob Sanders
I live in Seattle and commute daily to school, around 2 miles each direction. My route is almost entirely on the road, and a significant portion is on one of the busiest streets in the area. Since my commute is relatively short and no significant portion allows for me to ride without stopping, platform pedals make the most sense. However, the stock pedals that came with my bike had an awful tendency to bend under the pressure of a 200 pound guy rolling himself uphill, so those were out.
I had originally tried one of Shimano's hybrid pedals (Shimano PD-A530 SPD Dual Platform Pedal), but due to the fact that my shoes were almost always wet, I had a lot of issues with the lack of grip on the platform side of the pedal.

Not so with the Mx80's. With 8 screws digging into your shoes on each side of the platform, your feet aren't going anywhere, rain or otherwise.
Certainly not the cheapest pair of pedals, but if your bike is your main method of transportation, an extra $30 isn't going to matter.

5These pedals are the S***!!!
By Lebron James
Take off the spacers and your feet stick like glue. No more slippage on up or dh.Was hesitant about the cost @ first but well worth it. They look really aggressive too and has more pedal surface. Love em!

5Awesome Pedals
By Bryan
I bought these to go on my new Trek Fuel EX 5. These are awesome pedals. There is no way your feet can slip on this when spinning. In fact, it took me about 30 minutes to get used to the extremely insane grip these things had. They really hold on to your shoes. They hold on to my trail shoes as well.

When I took my bike in to my local bike shop for some service (I destroyed the rear hub in less than 2 weeks) they complimented me on my pedals and they were surprised of the quality and price I paid for it.

I have also hit the pedals on rocks and boulders all the time when mountain biking. These things barely have any scars from that. They hold up well to all the abuse I put it through. I would highly recommend this to anyone. Yes, the price may be up there but you get what you pay for surely.
