The bodies are built to whithstand rock strikes and the pin areas have been reinforced as well. VP-69 is fully rebuildable wth the available Rebuild Kit and you can also drop 70 grams off of the set with our Forged Titanium Axle upgrade kit.

I've been running VP-59/69's for years now. These are some fantastic pedals, light weight, strong, durable, and extremely grippy. The addition of the concave shape and extra pins take the VP-69 to a whole new level. VP-59's gave a bit of 'wiggle' room, the 69's truly give that clipped in feeling. With some nice shoes such as five-ten's or Teva's you have to seriously pick up your foot to change positions. In a a word the grip is 'Solid'. Also, they are fully rebuildable. However, none of mine have needed it as of yet. Titanium axles are available from VP-USA if you want to save a good deal of weight. Further, the support from Eric over at VP-USA is fantastic.
My only gripe is that the middle pins are the threaded allen type. Bash those hard enough and they will bend/snap and become a royal pain to replace. However, that is the same gripe of any pedal that uses those type of pins. Nothing specific to just this pedal.

These are very well made and looks great. Got these to replace the stock pedals came with my Trek Wahoo. No way can your feet slip off the pedal.

I have these pedals two times on single track trails by my house so far and they are great. My feet stick like glue and they are super light weight.
